2016 (SENIOR): Named All-WCC honorable mention... earned WCC All-Academic honors... signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals after the draft... anchored the Friday slot in the rotation... missed the first series of the year at UC Santa Barbara but went on to start every series opener for the rest of the year... posted a 4-7 overall record and a 4.71 ERA... led the team with 66 strikeouts... 2nd on the team with 80.1 innings pitched... recorded quality starts in eight of his 13 outings on the year... was the winning pitcher in USF’s first victory at the newly renovated Benedetti Diamond (Apr. 15), holding Gonzaga to one run on seven hits over a season-best eight innings, while striking out six... earned his first win of the year over Pacific at AT&T Park in the Benedetti Classic (Mar. 24), throwing 7.2 innings where he allowed one run on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts... tallied a season-high eight strikeouts in three consecutive starts: a win over San Diego (Apr. 22), a loss at Saint Mary's (Apr. 29) and a win at Portland (May 6)... also K'd eight over 6.1 innings in his final collegiate start, a loss at Fresno State (May 19)... took the loss in his season debut vs. Hawai’i (Feb. 26), throwing 4.2 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits with three walks and a strikeout... went at least 6.0 innings in his final six starts... boasted the best ERA among USF starters in WCC games at 3.49... his four wins in conference play were the 2nd-most on the team... his 50 strikeouts in WCC contests were the most on the team.

2015 (JUNIOR): A staple in the Dons' rotation, Shew commanded the top spot in the rotation for the duration of the season... he made 14 starts and threw 94.0 innings, fourth in the WCC... he had eight outings in which he went at least eight innings and had 10 of at least seven... he picked up his first win as a Don on Mar. 6 when he went eight shutout innings while striking out 10 for the 4-0 victory over UC Riverside... went eight innings and allowed one run on six hits in the series opener at San Diego on April 17... he threw his first complete game against Pepperdine on May 2 and did not allow a hit until the eighth as he allowed four hits and struck out seven in the 5-2 win... had six starts where he allowed one or no runs... struck out 70 and walked 19... named to the All-WCC second team.

PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Earned a Scholar Baller Award while at Saddleback College (Mission Viejo, Calif.) for his success both as an athlete and student… in his first year, he went an impressive 20 innings pitched without allowing a single earned run… also collected 17 strikeouts while allowing just eight hits for the year… followed it up in his sophomore year by throwing 95.1 innings and recording a 1.51 ERA…. Earned first-team All-Orange Empire Conference honors.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Chris Ashbach at Mission Viejo High School… had a 2.47 ERA his senior season and earned All-Sea View League second team honors… in his junior year, he had a 2.75 ERA and helped the team win the CIF championship at Dodger Stadium… graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA.
 
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 3, 1993 in Long Beach, Calif. … he is one of three children of Lorinda and Edward Shew… his cousin is MLB pitcher Ian Kennedy… enjoys playing music… business major.
