SAN FRANCISCO – USF's junior right fielder
Bradley Zimmer (La Jolla, CA) has been invited to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp, which gets underway on June 20 in Cary, N.C.
Zimmer earned first team All-West Coast Conference honors after batting .320 with seven home runs and 37 RBI in 58 games (54 starts). He led the team in slugging (.512), on-base percentage (.437) runs scored (48), walks (29) and stolen bases (19).
USF finished with an overall record and tied for second in the WCC with a 15-9 mark. The Dons earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals in Eugene, Ore. after advancing to the title game of the inaugural West Coast Conference Championship in Stockton.
The training camp will begin on June 20 in Cary, N.C., with the final 24-man roster to be set prior to the team's departure for Japan on July 3. The College National Team is slated to play various summer collegiate all-star teams on July 15-17 before playing Cuba in various cities throughout the United States from July 18-23.
