The Dandy Dons
  • Opened the season Sunday night with a 91-52 victory over South Carolina State in Memorial Gymnasium...Kruize Pinkins led four Dons' scorers in double-figures with 16 points...Tim Derksen and Mark Tollefsen both had 14 while Chris Adams finished with 11.
  • Are 2-0 all-time vs. Notre Dame de Namur, including a 95-57 victory in last year's season-opener...other game came in 1996-97 with the Dons prevailing 73-69.
  • Shot 58.1 percent from the field against South Carolina State...last year the Dons finished second in the WCC and tied for 28th nationally in field goal percentage at a 47.3 percent.
  • A win over the Argonauts would give Rex Walters his 100th coaching victory at USF...six other Don coaches have reached the 100-win milestone.
  • Play 16 regular season home games this year compared to 18 a year ago...were 13-6 (including NIT game) on the Memorial Gym hardwood last season en route to a 21-12 overall record.
  • Coming off a 21-12 record and an NIT appearance last season...21 wins were the highest total since the 1981-82 season...also tied for second in the WCC with a 13-5 record, posting its highest conference win total since 1976-77.
  • Return eight letterwinners and three starters from a year ago...all told, the Dons return 60.9 percent of their scoring and 62.5 percent of their rebounding from last season.
  • Senior Kruize Pinkins (12.2, 6.5) ranks as the team's top returning scorer and rebounder...junior forward Mark Tollefsen (10.5, 3.9) and senior guard Matt Glover (8.0, 5.8) return from last year's starting unit.
  • Junior Tim Derksen (9.0, 3.2) and senior Chris Adams (3.8, 1.6) are the only other players who saw more than 12 minutes of action per game last season.
  • Welcome five new players to the fold, including 6-7 junior Montray Clemons, who has Division I experience at DePaul...he is joined by first-year players Frankie Ferrari (Burlingame / Burlingame HS), Chase Foster (Aurora, CO / Valor Christian HS), Nick Loew (Burlingame / Burlingame HS) and Devin Watson (Oceanside / El Camino HS).
  • Junior center Derrell Robertston and sophomore guard Uche Ofoegbu are also eligible after redshirting last year as transfers from DePaul and SMU, repectively.
  • Lost its two top two scorers from a year ago in Cole Dickerson (15.1) and Avry Holmes (12.5)...a two-time All-WCC first team selection, Dickerson led USF in scoring and rebounding each of the last two seasons and graduated as the school's 19th all-time leading scorer (1,252) and 11th leading rebounder (748).
  • Return to action on Wednesday against Notre Dame de Namur before traveling to Estero, Fla. for the Gulf Coast Showcase, Nov. 24-26 where the Dons will face Hawaii in a first round match-up Florida Coast or Marist await in round two.

Opening Tip
USF (1-0, 0-0 WCC) plays its second game in four nights on Wednesday when the Dons host the Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts (0-2, 0-0 PAC WEST) Wednesday night in Memorial Gym. USF is coming off a 91-52 win over South Carolina State in its season opener on Sunday while the Argos have dropped games to Western Washington (78-52) and Northwest Nazarene (87-71) to open the season.
 
Series History
USF leads the all-time series with Notre Dame de Namur, 2-0. The Dons posted a 95-57 victory over the Argos in last year's season opener in Memorial Gym and escaped with a 73-69 victory during the 1996-97 season. 

Last Time Out
USF opened its 2014-15 season Sunday night with a 91-52 victory over South Carolina State in Memorial Gymnasium. Kruize Pinkins led four Dons in double-figures with 16 points, 14 of which came in the first half as USF opened a 45-18 lead at intermission. Tim Derksen and Mark Tollefsen finished with 14 while Chris Adams chipped in with 11. USF shot 58.1 percent from the floor and was 7-of-15 beyond the arc. The Dons limited the Bulldogs to 29 percent (18-for-62) shooting from the field.

Parking Information
Parking is available free of charge two hours prior to tip-off until one hour after the conclusion of the game in any campus lot, with the exception of designated green parking spots and the top of Hayes-Healy garage on Golden Gate Avenue adjacent to the gymnasium. The Hilltop Club Level
USF Athletics is pleased to announce the opening of The Hilltop, a new club level where fans 21 and older can enjoy beverages and catered food options before and during designated games during the 2014-15 season. Located in the upper mezzanine level on the south side of Memorial Gymnasium, The Hilltop will open one hour before tipoff and will remain accessible throughout the game. Beer, wine, soft drinks and catered food options will be available to all fans 21 years of age and older. Admission to the The Hilltop is priced at $25 per game. Season passes for all games with the exception of designated premium games may also be purchased for $250. Food and drink options are extra. The cost does not include a game ticket.
