SAN FRANCISCO –– On Saturday's matches at the Battle in the Bay Classic, the USF men's tennis team suffered a pair of defeats and were eliminated from this weekend's tournament play.To start the morning, seniors Nils Skajaa and Thomas Takemoto beat Davis Crocker and Carter Line of Michigan, 8-7(2), to advance to the semifinals. However, the Dons duo ran into a strong team from San Diego in Jordan Angus and Filip Vittek, who beat USF 8-5 to advance to the Sunday finale.
In the late morning, Skajaa battled with USC's Kalman Boyd, but suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss to the No. 8 overall seed in the tournament. Boyd will take on Alex Adamson of UC Davis in the semifinals on Sunday morning.
