SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The USF baseball team had a pair of honorees earn a spot on the 2016 West Coast Conference All-Academic team in senior right-hander

Blake Valley.
Shew earned his first all-academic nod after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent term and a 3.82 cumulative GPA as a business major. On the mound, Shew was the Dons' Friday starter, going 4-4 with a team-best 3.49 GPA in WCC games this year, while registering 50 strikeouts in 56.2 innings.
Valley also took home his first WCC All-Academic recognition by posting a 3.85 GPA as a finance major and starting 16 of the Dons' 26 conference games, adding five doubles, four RBI and four stolen bases in WCC contests. Valley was previously named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team earlier this season.
Rounding out the academic honors were junior shortstop
Nico Giarratano, junior outfielder
Matt Sinatro and senior lefty
