Hear from the Hall of Famers themselves:
Nicole Bowler member of the 2009 Women's Cross Country Team:
"It's a real honor to be back at USF and be together with all of my teammates who accomplished so much together. We all helped make a difference in the history of USF women's cross country and track and field."
Chloe Treleven member of the 2009 Women's Cross Country Team:
"I was super excited to come back because there is a lot of people I haven't really seen in a long time. It is nice to see what everyone has done, not just for the program when we came in in 2009, but what everyone has done since then. It's great to see everyone back."
Dominique Carter:
"It is an amazing experience to share this moment with my family that means the world to me. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be sitting up here now. My dad is my biggest support even though sometimes he pushes me a little too hard, we butted heads at times because we are spinning images of each other. I knew it was all out of love. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here. My mom who is also a huge encouragement even though she is not with us today she is with me in spirit, she is also a big support. My sister who is my rock and best friend, I can tell her anything. Without my family I wouldn't be here today."

"Just walking on campus, it was a lot about volleyball and my life being here. Things that come rushing back were double days, timed miles, morning practices and so I still suffer from PTSD from those. I have to set two alarms in the morning, and if I wake up especially day light saving times and if the alarm didn't go off my heart is in my stomach. The two biggest things I remember is my last volleyball season when we made the NCAA Tournament. We went undefeated before going into season play and we were just riding the wave, and to make the tournament first time in school history for volleyball was awesome. And second, is walking across the stage with a Cum Laude with two Bachelors one in Math and one in Physics."
"I don't want to cry. To go back and look back at all of the wonderful memories, I feel blessed. First and foremost, I want to thank god, because he is the one that healed me and I can do all things through God that strengthens me. Secondly, I want to thank my parents, my dad, my stepmom, my mom and stepdad who was here and passed away a few years ago. There love and time and a lot of money that was spent to have me play volleyball, I wouldn't be here without you. I also would like to thank my teammates and coaches, it was a lot of hours of blood, sweat and tears and I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else."
Luis Magalhaes:
"It is an honor to be a part of the Hall of Fame. Steve Negoesco was a father figure to me and for most players. He cared for those that needed it and deserved it. Like all excellent coaches, Steve knew how to pump us up for each game. In the locker room he used to post articles saying that we did not speak English. That got us all very excited to play."
Walt Bugler:
"I was kind of shocked when I was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Mary HiIe told me. I'm born and raised in San Francisco so I'm pretty familiar with USF history. I was a little kid growing up on Geneva and Mission when USF won the NIT (in 1949)."
Chubby Cox:
"It was a hell of an honor especially at a University like this. Who is the biggest name? Bill Russell. It's unbelievable. The team I played on with Bill Cartwright, We won 29 games in a row, we were the number one team in the nation."
John Cox:
"It feels really good especially with some of the legendary players that played here in the 70s when it was a powerhouse. To get in with those guys it feels good, I felt like I squeezed in with what they have done. And then with my father who is a part of that legacy in the 70s, it is a little bit sweeter."
Joe Hallisy:
"This is such a great honor, because there is family history with me here. My dad who I talked about tonight, he passed on his love of USF to me, my six brothers and sisters, we knew the USF fight song at a very early age and as honor as I was to get the Don of the year award tonight. I really accepted it for my dad because in our family he will always be the Don of the year."
