Dons to Introduce Golden on Monday

Director of Athletics Joan McDermott will formally introduce newly-hired head men's basketball coach Todd Golden to the USF community and media on Monday, April 1 in War Memorial at the Sobrato Center beginning at Noon.
 
The press conference will have remarks from Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Don Heller, McDermott along with Golden.  It will be streamed live via Facebook on both the Dons Athletics page and the Men's Basketball page.

The event is open to the public, and doors open at Noon. Parking is free in all campus lots between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
 
Golden, 33, was officially named USF's head coach on Wednesday after serving the previous three seasons as associate head coach under former head coach Kyle Smith. Golden served as the primary recruiter and defensive specialist for the Dons under Smith.  Prior to that he spent two years in Auburn under head coach Bruce Pearl where he worked with the guards, coordinated scheduling, and was the took a lead role in analytical and metrics data.

No stranger to the WCC.  Golden was a four time letter winner for Saint Mary's where he helped guide the Gaels to two NCAA Tournament appearances.
