SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Following a career season on the Hilltop, solidifying herself as one of the conference's top all-around players,
Debora dos Santos has been named to the 2024-25 West Coast Conference Preseason Team, announced by the league Wednesday morning.
"Debora is one of the best rebounders in the WCC," Head Coach
Molly Goodenbour said. "She's coming into the season healthy, and we expect her to be one of our top contributors again. She can get a double-double every game, but her personality is her best trait. She is considerate, thoughtful, and caring with a smile that lights up the gym."
Leading San Francisco to a successful 2023-24 campaign, dos Santos averaged a career-best 15.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in 30 contents to guide the Dons to a tie for third place in the conference standings. Dos Santos, the lone player in the WCC to average a double-double last season, posted a league-best 17, accentuated by a 29-point, 12-rebound performance in a 78-74 overtime win at Saint Mary's on Thursday, Feb. 29.
A force on the offensive end, she totaled 25 double-digit scoring performances, reaching the 20-point threshold seven times, including three straight to end the season against Saint Mary's, San Diego, and Pacific.
The senior forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, contributed on the boards as she posted double figures in rebounding 19 times while ranking first in the WCC and 33rd in the nation in total rebounds at 317. Her career-high 18 rebounds at LMU on Thursday, Jan. 4 marked the WCC-single game high for rebounds during the 2023-24 season.
Notably, dos Santos garnered All-WCC First Team honors for the first time in her career at the conclusion of the campaign.
Dos Santos highlights a team that returns 12 players from last season's roster, including four starters.
