Women's Basketball Signs Guard Emilie Beggs

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach Molly Goodenbour have officially announced Emilie Beggs as the first signee for the 2026-27 season.

"We're pleased to announce Emilie has joined our program," Goodenbour said. "She is tough, intelligent, hardworking, and will be a great fit for the team. We can't wait to get her to the Hilltop."

Beggs joins the program on the Hilltop for her first collegiate basketball season after finishing a successful high school and club career. A multi-sport athlete, Beggs excelled at basketball while also competing on the volleyball and cross country programs at St Hilda's Anglican School For Girls of the Independent Girls' Schools Sports Association (IGSSA).

A four-year member of the girls' basketball team, Beggs helped guide the team to the 2024 U18 State Championship and WABL Championship titles while also earning a silver medal at Club Nationals.

Beggs also spent one season with the Perry Lakes Hawks, an NBL1 semi-professional club based in her hometown of Perth, Australia. During the 2025 season, she appeared in 15 games and averaged 3.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. In her best overall performance on April 11, 2025, Beggs scored 15 points, knocked down three three-pointers, recorded seven rebounds, and dished out five assists against Kalamunda ES.

Following the campaign, she was named the 2025 NBL1 West Perry Lakes Youth Player of the Year.
