Pelletier Lifts Dons Past Lions to Even Series

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (21-33, 4-19 WCC), led by Charles-Etienne Pelletier's offensive firepower, earned a 5-2 victory over LMU (22-30, 8-15 WCC) Friday evening at Page Stadium.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

LMU opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 advantage.
San Francisco responded the following half frame, recording four unanswered runs to take the lead, 4-2. With runners on the corners and one out, Logan Schweizer tied the game with a double down the right-field line, scoring Michael Campagna and Patrick Keighran. Pelletier followed with a two-run home run that stayed fair down the left-field line to put the Dons up for good.
Pelletier picked up this third RBI of the game in the sixth, punching a single to center field, scoring Schweizer from second base to put the Dons up 5-2.
Gabriel Barrett pitched the contest's final four innings, solidifying the win for the green and gold in the bottom of the ninth inning with two strikeouts and a ground out.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Pelletier led San Francisco offensively throughout the victory, going two-for-three at the plate, including his first-career home run, three RBI, and scored one run.
Schweizer scored twice for the Dons while tallying two doubles and a walk.
Joe Soberon, earning his team-leading 14th start, picked up the win on the mound with five solid innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six.
Barrett solidified the win to earn his fifth save of the season as he struck out six batters in four innings of work.

UP NEXT:
San Francisco concludes the regular season on the road when it takes on LMU at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Page Stadium.
