LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Highlighted by a career-high eight strikeouts from Gauge Lockhart, the University of San Francisco baseball team (16-12, 7-1) evened the series with a narrow 6-4 victory at LMU (9-24, 1-7) Friday evening at Page Stadium.

- LMU took advantage early and jumped ahead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead.
- Trevor Harmon responded for San Francisco in the top half of the second inning, with a lead-off solo home run over the left-field wall to trim the deficit to 2-1.
- Adding a pair of tallies in the fourth frame, the green and gold gained its first lead of the game at 3-2. Myle Kallinger scored the tying run on a fielding error by the second baseman, and TJ Rogers later drove in Eddison Esquivel with a two-out RBI single for the go-ahead score.
- The Dons totaled two more runs in the following inning, when Jared Lewis launched a two-run home run to right field, plating Jackson Nystrom, to give the team a 5-2 advantage.
- The Lions climbed back into the contest with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, trimming the Dons' lead to one, 5-4.
- An insurance run came across for the green and gold as Kallinger scored from third on a Jayden Garrison fielder's choice to push the lead to 6-4.
- San Francisco held LMU scoreless in the final four frames to secure the series-tying victory.
- In addition to his career-best eight strikeouts, the most the right-handed graduate student has recorded at the Division I and II levels, Lockhart threw 4.1 innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on three hits, and walking two.
- Hunter Holzemer earned his fourth victory of the season on the mound, pitching 1.2 frames and allowing one hit and one walk.

- Harmon also found success with the long ball, recording his sixth-career home run, his first of the season, while going two-for-five at the plate.
- Quentin Pohorski recorded his fourth save as he finished the final two frames and totaled four strikeouts.
