Baseball Falls to Gonzaga on Senior Day

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (22-27, 13-11) concluded the home slate of the regular season with a 12-5 loss to Gonzaga (32-17, 18-5) in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Trevor Harmon put San Francisco on the board with a solo home run, trimming the deficit to 5-1.
- Jackson Nystrom brought the Dons closer in the sixth, plating Jared Lewis on an RBI ground out to bring the green and gold to within 5-2.
- After Gonzaga added seven unanswered tallies in the top of the eighth and ninth innings, extending its lead to 12-2, Jordan Lewis connected on a two-out three-run home run over the left-field wall to trim the Bulldogs' advantage to 12-5.
- San Francisco failed to score more runs in the final frame as Gonzaga secured the victory and the series sweep.
- Six players recorded a hit throughout the contest, highlighted by Lewis' first home run of the season, a three-run blast in the ninth inning.
- Harmon registered his third home run of the season while Nystrom added an RBI and scored a run.
- Hunter Holzemer, Kai Yovanovich, and Alan Gonzalez combined for four scoreless frames, allowing one hit, five walks, and recording three strikeouts.

San Francisco concludes the regular season on the road when it travels to take on Saint Mary's in a three-game series on Thursday, May 14 – Saturday, May 16, at Louis Guisto Field.
