MALIBU, Calif. – Adrian Valdez and Quentin Pohorski combined for the shutout as the University of San Francisco baseball team (22-23, 13-8) clinched the series with a 2-0 victory at Pepperdine (18-28, 12-9) Sunday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

San Francisco opened the scoring in the top of the third inning when Jared Lewis laced a single down the right-field line, scoring Jayden Garrison for a 1-0 lead.
Following five scoreless frames, Tyler Harries added to the Dons' advantage in the ninth inning with an RBI single to left field to extend the lead to 2-0.
Pepperdine failed to score in the final frame as Pohorski struck out two of the final three batters to secure the victory.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Lewis paced San Francisco offensively, going two-for-four at the plate with an RBI and a walk.
Harries recorded the green and gold's second RBI while also going two-for-four throughout the contest.
Additionally, Zack Ramppen registered his second multi-hit game of the series with two base hits.
Trevor Harmon and Garrison scored the Dons' lone two tallies.
On the mound, Valdez earned his fourth victory of the season, allowing four hits and striking out two in five scoreless innings.
Completing the shutout, Pohorski picked up his sixth save, pitching the final four frames, allowing three baserunners while recording two strikeouts.

San Francisco hits the road for its final midweek game of the season when it takes on Stanford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond.
