SAN FRANCISCO – Second year men's soccer head coach
Leonard Griffin is pleased to announce the addition of centerback Nathan Buckalew (Tualatin, Ore. / Tualatin HS), who will be joining the Dons for the 2020 season.
"We are very happy to have Nathan joining the Dons family," said Griffin. "As a defender with both great physical attributes that reads the game very well, Nathan will be another fantastic addition to our defense."
A four-time letter winner for the Timberwolves, Buckalew is a 6'2" centerback who was a two-time 6A Three Rivers League First Team Honoree. Following his senior campaign, he was named one of the top Oregon defenders by OregonLive.
Buckalew's senior campaign saw him lead a defense that allowed just 11 goals in 16 games, the second fewest goals allowed in Oregon 6A. He was also an offensive force, tallying 12 points on three goals and six assists from the sweeper position.
On the club scene, Buckalew played for the Website Timbers U13-U17 teams. He led his U13 team to a State Championship. His U17 and U18 Eastside Timbers won the Far West Regional League.
Buckalew will enroll in the fall and joins an incoming class that includes
