2011 SEASON: Was named the WCC Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season after his clutch play at Gonzaga where he hit .600 and totaled four RBIs, four runs, a home run, a walk and a sacrifice hit… started all 56 games for the Dons at second base and has totaled a .992 fielding percentage… turned in his first multiple-hit game of the year at UC Davis going 3-for-5 with two RBIs, two stolen bases, two runs scored and a double… went 2-for-3 with a double and stolen base against UC Santa Barbara (3/11)… notched two hits and a walk against San Jose State (3/15)… totaled three hits, four runs scored, a walk and a sacrifice hit at California (3/16)… finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, home run and walk at Pacific (3/25)… hit his second home run of the season against Cal Poly… went 2-for-4 with a walk against Santa Clara (4/22)… put together a 3-for-4 game with three runs, two RBIs at Gonzaga (5/28)… went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in the title game against Gonzaga (5/29).
2010 SUMMER: Made his mark on the base paths, stealing five bases in six attempts for the Cowlitz Black Bears in Longview, Wash. in the West Coast League.
2010 SEASON: Played in 49 games and started 39… hit .274 with 19 RBI, 16 walks… totaled two doubles, a homerun and an RBI against Texas San Antonio (3/5)… went 2-for-4 with an RBI, walk and stolen base at University of Alabama-Birmingham (3/13)… finished with two RBI on 3-for-5 hitting at UC Santa Barbara (3/26)… notched two hits against BYU (3/31)… drew two walks against Gonzaga (4/9)… went 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBI against Saint Mary’s (4/16)… finished with two hits, including a double, an RBI and a walk at Loyola Marymount (4/23)… totaled three RBI, a stolen base and a homerun on 3-for-5 hitting at Santa Clara (5/7)… went 3-for-5 at Santa Clara (5/9)… was 2-for-4 with a double and hit by a pitch against Portland (5/14)… put together a 3-for-4 day at the plate with two RBI at Pepperdine (5/28).
2009 SEASON: Redshirt.
PREP CAREER: Lettered four years in baseball, three of those at Terra Linda High School... earned All-League three years... lettered three years in football and had five All-League selections.
PERSONAL: Born in June of 1990 in Dayton, OH... son of Thomas Mahood and Cindy Shearer... nickname is Hoody... goal for the season is to master his role... chose USF for the coaching staff and it was close to home... likes that it's cold in San Francisco... would like to be Tim Couch for a day... the best advice he has ever been given is to 'just be Jason'... lists his grandfather as the most impressive person he has met... would like to attend a Cleveland Browns Super Bowl game... favorite movie is Old School... favorite book is Harry Potter... favorite food is steak... hobbies include baseball, card games, and badminton... major is media studies.
