2007 SEASON: Played in 32 games, making eight starts... had a .227 batting average... went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored against Gonzaga (4/29/07). 

AT FRESNO CITY COLLEGE (2005-2006): Two-time All-Central Valley League selection at Fresno City College ... hit .290 with 42 hits, six doubles, one triple, five home runs, 42 walks, 44 runs, and 33 RBIs as a sophomore... ranked ninth in hitting (.354), second in triples(4), third in doubles (13) and in the top-10 in slugging percentage and stolen bases among CVL leaders during freshman campaign.

PREP CAREER: Earned All-Ohio recognition in both baseball and football... hit .429 with seven home runs, seven doubles, 37 RBI and scored 37 runs as a senior... batted .359 as a freshman with 13 doubles, two homers, 27 RBI and a .500 OBP.

PERSONAL: Matthew Lieb... goal for the season is to help the team achieve all goals... best advice he's ever been given is if your best isn't good enough, get better... the best advice he could give to youngsters is no dream is impossible to reach... his favorite quote is swing big or go home... his favorite movie is Gladiator... his favorite food is fajitas... parents are Greg and Carol Lieb... born on April 9, 1986 in Euclid, OH.

GIARRATANO ON LIEB: "Matt has made a position change from the outfield to the infield. I think he'll do a great job as a left-handed hitter, pinch-hitter, DH and play some first base this year for us. We're looking for a good senior year from Matt."
