Paul Otellini was born on October 12, 1950 in San Francisco to David and Evelyn Otellini, second generation Italian-Americans of the City. Otellini attended Holy Name Grammar School, St. Ignatius College Preparatory, University of San Francisco for his Degree in Economics and UC Berkeley for a Master's.

He spent his entire career at Intel, rising through every sector to become Intel's fifth CEO until his retirement in 2013. In a span of 40 years, he was an integral part of the technology revolution with smart leadership, a driving work ethic, and creative ideas. He drove 100 mile round trip from his home in San Francisco to Santa Clara daily for work. He also spent time in Sonoma pursuing his interest in wine making.

Otellini served on many boards of directors in his lifetime, most recently with Google, the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, the Nuclear Threat Initiative, and previously The Fritz Companies and Autodesk. He was involved with several charitable and philanthropic organizations including the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, the San Francisco Symphony and the Knights of Malta (SFChronicle).
