Will Baker

  • Class
    1999
  • Honors
    Cross Country (1995-1996)
Baker, a member of the men's cross country team, and the Erasmus Project, is attracted to the personal aspect of teaching, that is, forming bonds with students. He thinks this bond would be more easily attained in a small town. "Small towns represent communities where people are linked in more than one way. People remain open to relationships and they don't draw back." Baker is well-versed in small town life, as he grew up in Alturas, CA, a town with a population of less than 3,000 people. The 6-foot plus Baker is not the first Baker to come to USF. Will's older brother, Josh, just graduated in May. Their father is also a USF alumni, and the Baker brothers' mother graduated from the Lone Mt. College for Women before it was a part of USF. Maybe one day Will's kids will attend USF, too (TheFoghorn).
