The Dons began the first half with a slow start, but turned up the pressure taking seven shots on goal for the half while holding Chapman to one shot. The half ended in a 0- 0 tie thanks to 11 offside penalties against USF plus the physical play of the Chapman players. Shellie Silva was knocked out of the first half with a leg injury and Kathleen Lucie was hurt, but stayed in the game. USF stuck it back to Chapman by taking 17 shots on goal as the defense shut down Chapman allowing only three shots. USF struck gold as Silva returned with about 30 minutes left to spark the Hilltopper attack. At the 67:41 mark, Silva boomed a comer kick to assist on sophomore Allison Genrich's first goal fora l-01ead. Silva later scored at 81:11 on a perfect assist from Laila Danielson to lead the Dons to a 2-0 victory. "We had good switches and good runs on the goal," said Head Coach Jean Paul Verhees. "We're greedy for goals and that is creating a lot of scoring opportunities (TheFoghorn)."
