With the largest turnout ever assembled for basketball, the Green and Gold kasaba kids will give everyone a good battle. A squad of approximately 50 men turned out for the first practice this year, held last Tuesday. Ninety percent of the Hilltoppers on the squad are vets, some of them having seen a lot of action on service teams. Coach Newell says that competition for the first string berths will be high and everyone will have to be on his toes. "With so many men turning out, and only five first-string berths open, the competition for these positions will be keen."
