Organization of a junior varsity has been completed, and a schedule with nearby opponents is rapidly being drawn up. Games with California, Stanford, and possibly St. Mary's and Santa Clara have been slated, along with games with local service squads and outstanding high school nines. As the team shapes up, Hank Pengel and Dick Kelley loom as leading contenders for third base, with Bill Shannahan, Don Gordon, and Bob Jones possibly rounding out the infield. Bob Morelli, Bill Reed and Bob Barbeau appear to have the best chance for the outfield berths on the starting nine (TheFoghorn).
