Running over Stanford's five kilometer whippet-fast course, Cindv Schmandt of Cal ran 17:19.5 to win the NorCal title, one tick of the watch shy of Cal Poly SLO's Maggie Keyes' course record of 17:18.5. Monique Parrish, in something of an upset, nabbed 21st and 20:55.4 as the number one Don. Number two was the equally surprising Kim Bachman in 22nd and 21:27.8. Number three was Eileen Brennan, earlier the stellar harrier, yet having an off day, as she could muster only 24th for 21:33.5. But for her overall excellence in competitive showings, she deserves rounds of applause many, many times over (TheFoghorn).
A native of Phildaelphia, Parrish was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, Omicron Theta Chi, the Philhistrians, Campus Ministry and the College Players. She graduated in Political Science in 1980.
