Ray Ware was a native of Tulare, CA and played baseball his sophomore year.  He graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor's in Accounting and was a member of the Block Club.

Second-sacker Frank Burke had two singles in three attempts for the freshmen. On Tuesday, April 12, Frank Ratto's frosh won their first game as they edged Riordan 7-5 on Ulrich Field. Ray Ware gained credit for the victory with a four hit effort. The Donlets went into the sixth frame behind 5-3. Three singles, two walks and an error brought in four big runs, and Riordan was shut out in the seventh to give the Hilltop frosh the victory.

Coach Anderson hopes to improve over the third place WCAC finish by starting five of his veterans on the field tomorrow afternoon. According to the coach's immediate plans, returnee John Alaura will lead off the batting order and play shortstop against Cal Poly. Batting next and covering second base, will be varsity award winner Jim Barbeau. Al Souza will hit third and guard center field while veteran Bill Gallagher will play left and bat in the cleanup position. Rounding out the power of the probable batting order is catcher and returnee AI Kirkes. Petty, a rookie catcher, will try his hand at first base, as the team doesn't have a regular for the initial sack. Another newcomer Carl Welte, is batting seventh playing the hot corner. The eighth spot has been given to right fielder Bill Salmina, an award winner, while the pitching chores will fall either on letterman Tom Passalaqua or rookie Ray Ware, one of whom will round out the anticipated lineup (TheFoghorn).
