Philip H. Kelly was another Palma High School three-sport performer, a quarterback and two-time All-League selection in basketball, and a solid infielder on the diamond. Kelly played basketball on the Dons frosh team averaging 2.9 points a game and collecting 32 rebounds in 16 games. The 6-2, 185-pound Kelly made his impact on the Hilltop as a three-year starter at safety for the Dons. Had a two-interception game in a 28-6 win over Azusa Pacific in 1967. He was also Junior class president, and a member of Phi Sigma Chi (PalmaAthletics).Â
