Granted, one cannot give too much credit to any unit on a winless team. However, to the unheralded men of the Don offensive line - Ken Allen, Mike Pehrson, Kevin Hull, Ed Tywoniak, Andre Hicks, Cliff Conedy, and Mike Hamacher - must go some kudos for doing at least an adequate job in the games thus far (TheFoghorn).

Ken Allen, a 6' 5", 250 pound full back, recently was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. Allen, a former USF football star, graduated from the Hilltop in June, 1971. Although he never played football in high school, Ken Allen was seen standing behind a post by the then coach Vince Tringali. Tringali persuaded him to come out for the team and Allen responded by becoming a starting fullback. Allen graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and is now living in San Jose.

Pushing these men will be two newcomers to the Hilltop—tight end Fritz Hoffman (Jesuit HS, Sacramento) and swift wide receiver McClellan Reed (Los Angeles HS). The offensive line should be much stronger than last year's unit which was heavily depleted by injuries. Heading up the line will be massive guard Andre Hicks (6-3, 250 lbs.) who was the Dons top lineman last season. Hicks' impressiveness stems from his excellent speed — 5.0 in the 40 yard dash. Guard Mike Pehrson (223) and tackles Cliff Conedy (247) and Ken Allen (244) round out a hard hitting alignment, along with bruising center Mike Hamacher (216) who was impressive last season after switching over from strong tackle (TheFoghorn).
