  • Class

    Men's Basketball (1961-1965)
Clarence Esters played four years for the Dons basketball team and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor's.

From the southland comes an All-CIF player, Clarence Esters, who hails from Compton High School. Clarence is 6-4 and 200 pounds. He is a jumping jack who is a fine rebounder and a fine shot. Clarence is quick and plays a good defensive game. Coach Vukicevich considers him one of the better men on the backboards Clarence will be playing forward where he can pop his jumper and climb the boards for those rebounds.

The lack of a good, all-around guard to go with the accurate shooting and defensive work of Clarence Esters, Dick Brainnard, Jim Yerkovich, and Tom Evart hurt the team the most. Esters finished the night with 20 points; Brainnard, 11; Yerkovich, 11; and Evart with 8 (TheFoghorn).
