John Reid grew up in Walnut Creek, CA and went to high school in Saratoga, where he played basketball. He played one season for the Dons and then transferred to St Mark's in Olympia, WA, and then to Lutheran University. He was a landscaper in North Carolina for several years and then coached for AAU.
This year I'm afraid USF rooters will only be seeing seven or eight players on the court for the Dons. The ubiquitous Boynes, Hardy, Cox, Cartwright and Rod Williams will see their customary playing time. Sam Williams, Erik Gilberg and Doug Jemison, a Red-Shirt from last year, will also be seeing plenty of action. However, newcomers Marvin Deloatch, Bart Bowers, David Cornelious and John Reid will see limited, if any, action (TheFoghorn).
