It was fairly even after that, with SF State playing with 2 men who had technically fouled out, but were allowed to remain in to keep the carnage going. One of the high points of the evening was a semi-respectable donnybrook with both benches emptying, and 2 players being ejected. Leading the Frosh scoring were Pat Loushin and John Hancock with 13 points apiece. Other men In double figures were Ron Centerwall with 12, Glenn Hunter with 11, and Pete Kelly with 10.
Vukicevich got some bad news when Steve Ferreboeuff, a strong contender for a starting role and also a soph, tore ligaments in his knee and will be out for the season. Contending for the front line spots with Farley, Hogg, and Burks are 6-5 soph Ron Centerwall, who was a starter for the frosh, who used eight men almost equally. Another hopeful is 6-1 Pat Loushin. Pat was second to Burks in both rebounding and scoring last year with an 11.5 points and 10.0 rebounds a game. Pete Kelly is another 6-7 soph who will be battling for a position (TheFoghorn).
