The two men in front, therefore, wili specialize in blocking, while those behind will alternately do the running, kicking and passing. Blockers and Runners With that in mind, we walked down to the field Tuesday, and took a gander at those men who will take a crack at the backfield assignments. Among the blockers are Hale, Arneson, Kelly, Becker, Burge, Stark, Forseppi, Wair, Cresci, Balboa star Giannini, Rodriguez, Lewis, and Muir (TheFoghorn).

Frank Giannini was born in San Francisco, graduating from Balboa High School as a three-sport star in football, basketball and baseball, and a nominated inductee into the Balboa Hall of Fame. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army for two years during the Korean war. He then came back to San Francisco to start his career as an apprentice glazer for Cobbledick & Kibbie Glass Co. Frank quickly rose through the ranks, managing the San Francisco division, and eventually becoming President of the company. He then became President of the Western division of EFCO Glass Company where he finished out his career. He was an integral part of a majority of the high rise construction projects in San Francisco. Many of those who worked for Frank went on to become very successful glass contractors and managers in the industry.

Raising his family in Millbrae, Frank also set aside time to coach Little League, and after two short years, became the Head Commissioner of the Millbrae Lions Little League program for several terms. He then went on to co-found the first Millbrae Tennis Club and served as its first President. He and his friends then started the Millbrae Racquet Club (a private tennis club still operating in Millbrae), and again served as the first President. Later in life, he became President of the California Golf Club, and President of Oakmont Golf Club in Santa Rosa. Frank was also a proud co-founder of the Grand Masters. A group of very distinguished close friends (30+ members), and served as President and Treasurer (SFChronicle).
