Born in San Francisco on May 3, 1951, Gary Senn was raised in an athletic family. He was a great basketball and baseball player alongside his brothers. He went on to play professionally with the San Francisco Giants AAA team. When he left baseball and worked for Standard Oil in Saudi Arabia before returning to San Francisco permanently.

The Dons will field an experienced squad against the already twice victorious Indians. In actuality, Stanford has beaten the Philadelphia Philly Rookies twice and has lost to its own Alumni once. Benedetti is hoping to improve on last year's 24-28 record, and a double victory over the perennial nationally ranked Indians would put the Dons on the right track. The probable starting lineup for the Dons will be: Catcher—Randy Zanze or Gary Senn; First B—Billy Curran; Second B—Bill Downing; Third B—Steve Giannaecini; Short—Mike Buskey; Left F—Bill Garcia; Center F—Tad Tassone; Right F—Larry Jones.

The hitting attack was again divided up in the lineup. The Dons got all the runs they needed to win the game in the second inning. Bill Downing’s second triple of the day opened the inning, and he later scored on an error committed by the third baseman on Gary Senn’s ground ball. Senn moved to third on Redling’s single and scored on Tad Tassone’s single. Another Sac State error enabled the Dons to score another run in the fifth (TheFoghorn).
