Ted Langowski, when not pitching, will be sharing first base duties with with junior transfer Scott Taylor. USF has three possible starters behind the plate: Jim West, Rick Dardis, and Brian Dakin, all junior transfers capable of the task. The infield looks very solid this year. Senior Scott Taylor who according to Bowman, "had a great winter," will start at first. French will be the second baseman with power hitting senior Brian Dakin, "a very versatile player," according to Bowman, at third. Paolo Delia Bordella who is "really giving us great senior leadership," says Bowman.
Both Dakin and Jeff McMillan were offensive standouts in the series. Dakin roped two home runs as McMillan and Scott Taylor added one each. Greg Wieser pitched 8 and 2/3 strong innings and got no decision on Friday. Ron Herbert is nursing a bad back, and the Dons turned their first triple play of the year. USF looked even worse in thc second game of the double-header as the Wolfpack scored six runs in the opening three innings off senior Ed Paulus. Brian Dakin stroked his third home run in league play, a two run shot, accounting for the only offense of the game for the Dons.
