Bill Arata, Jr. was born on June 4, 1935, in Petaluma, CA.  He graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1957 where he lettered in varsity baseball all 4 years. He was a member of the Marketing Club, Residence Council and Senior Dance Clubs. He graduated with a degree in Sales and Marketing and enjoyed a 30 year career in the pharmaceutical industry. Bill was proud to be a top producer in his field and won many awards for his sales achievements. He served his country honorably as a 1st Lt. in the United States Army. A long time resident of Daly City, Bill was a 50 year member of Our Lady of Mercy parish in Westlake where he coached many teams in their baseball program. He was a member of the OLM Men's Club and the University of San Francisco Alumni Association. 

His father, William Emil Arata, is in the USF Hall of Fame, and also graduated from USF.
