Half at Quarter: What has been said of the Flank- men may as well be said of the back- field. Charlie Hale returns to his duties at quarter, providing that he can overwhelm such competition as will be provided by Cliff Rodrigues and Jack Fischer, former youngsters. Fischer, who held down the center of the line for Bob Kleckner last fall, proved himself to be such a good blocker during spring practice that he was moved into the backfield. Fischer, a made-over right half, is set to lead the interference. His bulk and rugged play stamps him as ideal for this spot. He will have much competition, however. (TheFoghorn).
