TENNIS TEAMS END SEASON AT WCC CHAMPIONSHIPS 1992

The men and women's tennis teams finished off their seasons in the West Coast Conference Championships last Sunday, April 26. At St. Mary's College in Moraga, the women tied for fifth and the University of San Diego, the men finished sixth. Both tournaments were won by Pepperdine whose women's ten is ranked 11th in the nation and the men's team is ranked 10th.

In the women's final, the lone bright spot for the Lady Dons was the all-USF consolation final. In that match, Margaret Flong defeated teammate Judy Lin 6-4, 6-3. The Lady Dons finished with a team score of 18, good for a fifth-place tie with Santa Clara. Margaret Hong narrowly edged teammate Judy Lin for the consolation singles title of he WCC Toumament, and has done likewise for our award, MVP of Women's Tennis. . Lin was outstanding as well, however, teaming with Hong to win the consolation doubles title in the same tournament.
