University of San Francisco Athletics

Richard Ames was born on July 25, 1948, in San Francisco. He was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Grammar School, Saint Ignatius High School, and the University of San Francisco. He loved basketball, and played for the Dons as a guard.  Besides coaching basketball for many years, he served with the San Francisco Fire Department from 1975 to 2003.
