Forrest Hall was born October 29, 1921 in Oil City, PA and attended his local Saint Joseph High School. After high school, he received a basketball scholarship at Duquesne College in Pittsburgh, but instead enlisted in the United States military. At 5’ 8” and 158 lbs., he played football for the Fourth Army Air Force team and represented them at the 1945 East-West Shriners Game. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the ninth round (85th pick overall) of the 1945 NFL Draft, but instead enrolled at USF and played for the Dons. He led in national kickoff returns in 1946, and set an NCAA record of 36.2 yards per kickoff.

Following college, Hall started professionally for the San Francisco 49ers under coach Buck Shaw. He played one season in 1948 and retired in 1950 from professional football. He had worked as an electrician in the off-seasons, and did that full-time after he left football. He also coached Little League in San Jose for ten years.

Bronco hurler Cy Smith had only one bad inning, the first in which the Dons made three runs. Thereafter, the tall hurler had the game well under control, giving up only one tally in the seventh inning. Meantime, Ed Garcia, Hilltop reliable was without his usual "stuff" and was well pounded before giving up the chores to Tom Pagee in the sixth inning. Pagee escaped any serious damage, getting even with the Bronco for their early season tactics. Pagee also figured in the victory of the nine over San Jose. Starter Jim Shields was resting on a comfortable lead when he began to tire in the ninth. He loaded the sacks with one out, and the margin of difference was narrowed to one run. Coach Pete Newell decided to send in Pagee who promptly got a force out at home and then struck out the next batter. Schramka, Matteucci, Rotar and Landini led the Don hit attack on the home diamond, against the Spartans. Forrest Hail, with four for five hits, gave Cy Smith the most trouble in Seals Stadium (TheFoghorn).
