NORTH KINGSTOWN -- Evan Scott, North Kingstown's All-State center/forward last winter, has made the University of San Francisco basketball team as a walk-on. The 6-6, 180-pound freshman is playing guard for the Dons and made his college debut Monday night against UNC-Pembroke. He played two minutes in the 94-57 exhibition victory. USF opens its season Friday night at Stanford.

Scott averaged 16.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists last season in leading the North Kingstowns Skippers to the quarterfinals of the State Tournament (ProvidenceJournal).
