Ole Clausen graduated from USF with Degrees in Business and in Finance. He is now the CFO of Sigdal Vest, Studio Sigdal Bergen, Alesund, Molde in Bergen, Norway. He played soccer for the Dons for two seasons.
The University of San Diego soccer team was at Ullrich Field Friday for an afternoon home contest with the Dons. The cold and damp weather did not hinder the Dons en route to a 2-1 victory. San Diego struck first on a weak defensive series by USF, which seemed to inspire the team to rally back with two unanswered goals. USF midfielder, Ole Clausen, tied the game with 7:07 left to play in the first half off a fine comer kick by speedy Ola Henmo. The go-ahead goal was scored by forward George Vukic on a beautiful cross by midfielder Ivar Suomsmo. "I would've had to be an idiot to miss that shot," said the modest Vukic, "Stromsmo took out three guys and left me in all alone."
Thc Dons came out for the second half fired up and quickly ran the score to 2-0 with one of thc prettiest goals of the season involving Bjorn Schonbeck, Ole Clausen, and George Vukic. "Schonbeck hit the ball to Vukic who hit it to me," explained goal scorer Clausen after the game. Dons goalkeeper Seth Osterman played a good game in net, but was denied a shut-out because of a late goal in the second half by SJSU. USF defense shut the opponents down thereafter and the Dons last game ended 2-1 (TheFoghorn).
