Biography: Tscale played soccer for four years on the Hilltop. He was part of legendary coach Steve Negoesco's first every recruiting class at USF. During his four seasons, the soccer team registered 32 wins, five losses and three ties. The Dons were 1965 NCAA Far West Champions, 1966 NCAA National Champions and 1967 NCAA Far West Regional Finalists.

Why Tsacle Chose USF: “Steve Negoesco was hired as the Dons men's soccer coach in 1962 and he recruited players, including me, from his junior soccer team.”

Favorite USF Memories: “I was very proud to be a member of the USF men’s soccer program. There was a long tradition of excellence in the program going back to the days when Gus Donoghue played at USF and then later when he coached Steve Negoesco to a Co-National Championship. Coach Negoesco recruited my freshman soccer class with a goal to win a national championship during our tenure at USF. My years at USF were life changing and I always look back at that period as one of the best in my lifetime. My USF soccer family has continued to be an important part of my life to this day.”

The USF Student-Athlete Experience: “I enjoyed playing for Coach Steve Negoesco and the camaraderie, and life-long friendships with my fellow USF teammates.”

Life After USF: Upon graduating from USF, Tscale obtained Graduate Degrees in Mathematics (UC Berkeley) and  Computer Science (UC Davis). He worked for six years in the IT industry before joining the faculty at California State University, Stanislaus where he taught Computer Science and coached the men’s soccer team from 1973-2010. After retiring from academia, Tscale started a new career in music  playing fiddle with the Fog Valley Drifters bluegrass band and the Helios Greek Band. He is currently living with his wife, Edith, of 50 plus years in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada foothills.
