But the Dons realize they have to overcome a lack of pitching depth if they are to be successful. Paul Bartke, one of the Dons chief relievers, could miss the trip with elbow tenderness, and the rest of the bullpen was exposed in the San Jose St. debacle.
Dons' starter Paul Bartke settled down after the second inning to shutout the Bulldogs for six innings. For Bartke, it was his first complete game of the year. Tuesday, the Dons' pitching betrayed them in a 16-4 loss (TheFoghorn).
