Massoud Baghai was a native of San Francisco and graduated in 1960. He obtained his Degree in Economics attending night school.
The perennial contenders in the San Francisco Soccer League demonstrated their superior experience by jumping into a 2-0 lead. Joe Stevens put the Dons on the scoreboard by taking a pass from center forward Massoud Baghai, and shooting the ball from his outside left position. Mexico A.C., passing the ball sharply, drove two more shots into the goal before the Dons could score again.
The well-balanced Don offense proved it had the scoring punch characteristic of USF soccer teams as it poured across three goals in each half. The big guns in the Don attack were Massoud Baghai and Yves Jean Joseph with two tallies apiece. The Hilltop defense, not to be outdone by the offense, showed why it's considered the terror of the league as it kept the ball clear of goalie Tim Brophy for most of the contest. Ed Duran, George Tubman, and Tony Njoku all played their usual outstanding defensive game. The lone State score came almost immediately after the contest started. The Staters worked the ball into the corner and then scored with a head-shot on a lofting kick in front of the Don goal. USF came roaring right back, however, and the rest of the tilt was completely Don-dominated. USF's first goal was unexpected — the State goalie tried to kick the ball cut but was harassed by Jean Joseph and missed it. Baghai was right there to boot it in. Manual Contreras got the second Don goal on a driving corner shot and Baghai added another before the first half ended on a demoralized State squad (TheFoghorn).
