Don sophomore Kelli Bryant added a third goal when she knocked in a deflected corner kick by Kristi Mangney at the 58:02 mark to cinch the win. Mangney had a busy day as the Dons had 13 corner kick attempts, in contrast to only one by the Pioneers.

The disappointing second half to the season should be taken into context — the Dons are a young team which returns all players who have made a major contribution this season. With the addition of three talented redshirts next season (senior Kristin Mangney, junior Hege Johnson, and freshman Mindy Falor), and the experience gained by the numerous freshmen (8 of which who have started games), USF should be a better team. "We are definitely the team of the future," said Dodge.

Silva and Mangney have become quite a fearsome scoring duo in this early 1993 season. Each has 12 points to share the scoring lead in the Western Region. Silva's scoring is no surprise, but her assists have been turning many heads. Last season, she accounted for only three assists, but in the first four games this year, Silva has doubled that total (TheFoghorn).
