About 30 seconds after Roboostoff's goal, Leon Heitman netted his second on probably the finest scoring shot of the contest. He booted the ball from the center of the field about twenty yards from the goal. The ball ripped past Polulyach and the Dons led 7-0. A minute after this score, Friessen again took advantage of Russian disorganization and scored his third goal of the day with a swift shot from the corner. At this point, with his booters leading 8-0, Negoesco cleared the bench only to have reserve forward Bill Mejia pound through three consecutive goals before the end of the first half.
Within the season to date, the soccer Dons have received some outstanding play from some quite unheralded players. Midfielders Edgar Sagustume, John Miklewright and Lorenzo "Lencho" Cumplido and goalies Bill Rapp and Steve Carvajal have all contributed heavily to the success of the green and gold. Also providing key performances have been reserves Urbano Boucsieguez, Bill Mejia, Al Medina, Kevin Dineen and Luis Lefaure (TheFoghorn).
