Freshman tailback, Marc Watson, rolled up 127 yards rushing in 26 carries including the first touchdown of the game. USF marched 64 yards in eight plays to score in the second quarter, as Watson outran the Gael defense from 10 yards out. The big play of the game was a 36-yard aerial from Nelson to yearling receiver, Tom Bidegary (TheDon).
Bidegary Named To All Coast San Francisco (UPI)
Split receiver Tom Bidegary of USF was named Honorable Mention to the College Division the UPI All-Coast team. Bidegary, who caught 67 passes for 1,072 yards, broke eight school records and ended up being the No. 2 pass receiver in the nation in the College Division.

In the light heavyweight division, Tom Bidegary scored a one round TKO over Sean Maloney who failed to answer the bell for the second round. In the opening period, Bidegary landed a hard left to Maloney's forehead which did noticeable damage to the boxer. Maloney came back to last out the first round but elected not to continue the fight when questioned by referee Giron (TheFoghorn).
