Darryl Nitta was a native of Aiea, HI and attended Iolani High School. He played infield and batted switch and threw right. 5' 8", 165 lbs., HS - .375 AVG, 10 SB, 687 OBS his freshman year.
San Francisco has now lost six-straight since their victories over the Broncos, with the nationally ranked Waves on the schedule tomorrow at Benedetti Diamond. "You just have to refocus," said shortstop Darryl Nitta who led the Dons offensively over the weekend. "What's in the past is in the past. On Sunday, Apr. 25, Portland came back from a 5-2 deficit to defeat USF 12-5 in the final game of the series after sweeping the double-header the day before, 3-0 and 9-1. Nitta (2-for-5, run) and designated hitter T.J. McCall (2-for-4, RBI) led the Dons offensively in the third game, while Chad Soares (2-5) was dealt the loss after going five innings, and giving up eight runs with three strikeouts. The game was delayed twice because of rain and Pilot Head Coach Chris Sperry was ejected in the top of the six inning (TheFoghorn).
