James Tonge graduated in 1943 in Economics, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
The starting line-up for the Gold team is made up entirely of new faces to the Don Varsity. Led by Horace Winslow, a smart player who has all the attributes of an excellent leader, this team will furnish a strong counter attack with Vic Ramus and Billy Russo, who have been running wild during practice, doing most of the ball toting. They will be ably assisted by Al Marselek at quarter and by big, easy-going Glen Smith at full. Jim Tonge, pass receiver extraordinary, and Leo Orginos, held out of competition last year, will be at ends (TheFoghorn).
