Ed Hanna was a two year letterman at first base for the Dons baseball team.

In both California games, Coach Pete Newell will have a chance lo use his ace, Tom Pagee. Tho familiar faces of "Dippy" Mateucci, Forrest Hall, Paul Schramka, Johnny Vick, Johnny Rotar, Ed Hanna, and Andy Chicourratt, should be in the starting lineup. Either Lou Landini or Frank Boland will handle Pagee's tosses.

Matteucci, up for the second time in the inning popped to short and Ed Hanna, who doubled previously, tripled far into right center cleaning the burlaps. When the dust had cleared, the Dons had eight markers to their credit on eight hits.

Last Thursday afternoon found the USF horsehiders breaking into the win column for the first time in the yet immature 1947 season by a 9 to 5 victory over the Alameda Navy Nine. "Big Ed" Hanna led the locals with two singles in three trips to the plate. Ed proved himself again to be the "Houdini of the Diamond" with the hidden ball play. In the All-Star game he pulled it on Neil Sheridan, former Don, now playing with the Seals (TheFoghorn).
