Bugler has been coaching the USF Women's team for the past two years, and he has had some successful recruits. This year Walt Bugler has recruited four new players to his team. Kim Bachman, a freshman from Los Lomas High School, Walnut Creek, will be playing guard position for the Dons. Bugler remarks that, "Bachman is a very fine basketball player." Gloria Smith, a junior, is a former basketball player from San Mateo Junior College. Bugler states that she will be a high scorer as she plays guard position. Sue Cottier, is a former Mount Diablo Valley Most Valuable Player. Cottier will be playing center position, while Peggy Klenow will take forward and center positions. Another recruit on the USF Women's Basketball Team is Donna Price. Donna is a transfer student from New Jersey. Bugler intends that Price will aid in rebounding as well as scoring a high percentage for the team.
Gene has not decided on the starting line-up for his team. He believes that every girl on his team can start. "I believe that the players on the bench are just as much of the game as the players on the court," says Bantay. The team members of the USF Women's Junior Varisty team are: Serprenia Faivs, Elaine Ocelmendy, Aimee Hunter, Cathy McCoy, Bridget Murphy, Linda Fisher, Peggy Klenow, Regina Avateh, Theresa Buencamino, Robin Edwards, Debbie Maconell, Kim Lehman, Ann Silva, and Cathy Hoenbach (TheFoghorn).
