One of three newcomers likely to pitch in the starting rotation...very competitive on the ground...good at keeping the opposition off-balance...coming off a good summer season in Iowa. 

AT CS DOMINGUEZ HILLS: Appeared in 19 games, with 7 starts and a 4-4 record...recorded a 6.04 ERA in 56.7 innings (43 K, 29 BB)...defeated S. Cal. College, CS Stanislaus, the Master's College and Cal Poly Pomona...pitched 6-plus innings of 1-run, 2-hit ball in his win over CPP...credited with 4 "quality starts" (6+ IP, 3 or fewer ER), 3rd best on team...allowed just 4 of 11 "inherited runners" to score. 

AT L.A. MISSION JC: All-League and Team Pitcher of the Year in '1992...led Free Spirits to 1990 JC state playoffs.

PREP AND PERSONAL: An All-League as a junior and senior at John Marshall HS...credited with the team's Performance of the Year as a senior...biggest sports thrill involved playing at Witchita State in the summer of '93...born February 2, 1972 in Iowa City, IA...son of David and Toni Duncan.
