Thomas A. Passanisi was a native of San Francisco and graduated in 1968 in History.

When all is said and done, however, it's the players, those mud-caked, gimpy-legged, and blood-smeared young men with a love for the game and no time for books, who carried Green and Gold football fortunes into, so to speak, full bloom. Some of these "horses" have played their last football game for USF, and all will be sorely missed. Phil "The Drill" Wanlin, a strong-armed, quick-footed quarterback, gave us numerous thrills, his teammates yeoman work, and his coaches someone who could make the big play. Mike Gasparini, whom rival coaches often called our most dangerous player, grew with the program through the past four, sometimes painful, years. Massive Mike Donohoe, a sure-handed bullish tight end just may join USF's Dave Olerich in the pro ranks; Marty Wagner and Tom Passanisi also gave their all. Ken Pitetti and captain Bob Albertazzi ably anchored both lines and will no doubt be missed next year (TheFoghorn).
